Located in Montenegro, one of the most important countries of the Balkans, Bar is a beautiful coastal town on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Life does not end here in winter. There is a harbor, train station, sports stadium, schools, hospitals, shops, markets, bars and anything else that a town of this size needs.

The Old City of Bar is one of the oldest settlements in Montenegro. The entire Old Town is currently an open air museum. It is also an archaeological site. A truly unique place. This historic city, its architecture and natural beauty are definitely worth to visit.

Currently there are only two commercial ports in Montenegro: Zelenika (near Herceg Novi) and Bar. Many private yachts and boats were coming and located here. This is also the base of the Navy of Montenegro. All international sea cruises start from Bar.

Just a short drive from the city center there is Stara Maslina, one of the oldest trees on the entire world. This olive tree has been there for over two thousand years and although one side is heavily damaged, it still represents a true Balkan history.

More than two thousand years ago, during the Roman Empire, olive trees were planted in the Bar and Ulcinj. Since then, people in this coastal region of Montenegro have been producing some of the best olive oil in the Mediterranean. Olive oil is a part of the living texture in this region. It is a basic component of delicious local cuisine.

Montenegro is a new destination for international investors with its magnificent location in the center of Europe, a rapidly growing economy, a geographical structure that is very open to development, historical, cultural and natural riches.

Montenegro which has become a NATO member in recent years, has received international guarantees of its territorial integrity. In Montenegro, which fulfills all the Copenhagen criteria in its legal systems under European Union negotiations, the rights of investors are protected by a strong legal system.

Council of the European Union has indicated that Serbia and Montenegro can join the EU in 2025, primarily. More information on the country’s relations with the EU and report 2018 can be found on the link below:
